► No dejes que todo se deshaga / Don't Let it all unravel

En 2007 estaba viendo el festival Live Earth -que Al Gore organizó sobre el cambio climático- por televisión. Entre actuación y actuación se proyectaban cortos para despertar la conciencia ecológica del espectador. Uno de esos cortos, Don't Let it all unravel, me impresionó mucho, tanto que hoy lo recordé y lo he buscado para saber más de él y compartirlo. En una entrevista para The New York Times Style Magazine, la directora de esta historia Sarah Cox cuenta cómo su madre, su productora, la madre de ésta y muchas otras amigas colaboraron para tejer todos los patrones que ella y Greening Jo habían diseñado. Después comenzó a deshacer todas la piezas tejidas para crear esta animación de dos minutos. De esta manera, Sarah Cox utiliza la lana y el punto para mostrar que al igual que el mundo y la vida algo tan complejo y hermoso puede deshacerse rápidamente.

I was watching the Live Earth, organized by Al Gore about climate change in 2007, on television. After each show short films were projected. I really liked one of those films entitled Don't Let it all unravel, I was very impressed. Today I remembered it and I wanted to know more about it and share it. In an interview in The New York Times Style Magazine, Sarah Cox (artist, director and knitter) tells how her mother, her producer and her mother, and many friends worked together to knit all the patterns designed by herself and Greening Jo. Then she began to unravel everything to record this amazing animation of two minutes. Thus, Sarah Cox shows that the knitted wool and the world are complex and beautiful but they can unravel quickly.
