Aquí os presento al amigurumi Pink Robot, uno de los protagonistas del disco de Flaming Lips Yoshimi battles the Pink Robots, y mi primer patrón. Después de unos cuántos días he logrado diseñar este patrón de amigurumi a base de símbolos que quiero compartir con todos vosotros. Me gustaría saber si este tipo de patrones os resulta fáciles de entender o si preferís otra manera de explicar el proceso de tejer amigurumis. Si te animas a crear tu propio Pink Robot y durante su elaboración crees que hay un error en el patrón házmelo saber para mejorarlo, por favor. ¡Lo agradeceré mucho!

Today let me introduce you to Pink Robot Amigurumi, my little tribute to the Flaming Lips' album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, and my first crochet pattern. After a few days I have finished the design of this amigurumi pattern based on symbols that I want to share with you all. I wonder if you like this kind of pattern or if you prefer another way to explain the art of crocheting amigurumi. ✂ ¡Recicla y haz crochet! / Recycle and crochet!

Una de mis vecinas –aficionada al crochet de la 'Old School'- convierte las bolsas de plástico del supermercado en bolsos, cestitas, carteras, jarrones, zurrones, etc. Su técnica es la siguiente: corta las bolsas en tiras; anuda todas esas tiras; forma un ovillo y comienza a tejer. De esta manera logra piezas muy resistentes y suaves al tacto, aunque la gama de colores es limitada, claro. 

★ Propuesta ecológica y económica 

Te animo a que recicles las bolsas que acumulas en casa y hagas tu propia cesta para la compra. De esta forma contribuyes a no desperdiciar más plástico y así reducir la contaminación del planeta en el cual vives. Y además, ahorras el dinero que normalmente cobran los supermercados por sus bolsas.

One of my neighbors –'Old School' crochet lover- turns plastic grocery bags into handbags, baskets, purses, vases, pouches... She follows these instructions: cut bags in strips, knot all these strips, make a ball and start knitting. The result is a very strong and smooth item, although the range of colors is limited, of course. 

★ Environmental and Economic Benefits

I encourage you to recycle grocery plastic bags and to crochet your own eco-friendly shopping bag. In this way you will stop wasting more plastic. It's a reusable bag and this means less pollution for the planet where you live. And finally, you will save the money that supermarkets usually charge for their plastic bags.

★ monstruillos de ganchillo en mi bolsillo / creepy cute crochet in my pocket

Hoy me he autorregalado este libro titulado Monstruillos de Ganchillo de Christie Haden. ^_^

Hace unos meses se lo regalé a una amiga y aprendimos mucho tejiendo algunos de estos simpáticos y 'terroríficos' personajillos. Así que esta mañana cuando lo volví a ver dije: ¡Me lo llevo!

Puede que esté equivocada, pero creo que Monstruillos de Ganchillo es el único libro sobre amigurumis y traducido al español que he encontrado en las librerías de Málaga. He hecho alguna que otra búsqueda por Internet, pero sin suerte. Así que ahí va la pregunta, ¿sabéis de otros libros, revistas o coleccionables que se publiquen en español sobre este tema? ¿Y cuál es tu libro (independientemente del idioma) sobre amigurumi favorito?

Today I bought this book entitled Creepy Cute Crochet by Christie Haden. 

I gave this book to a friend a few months ago and we learned a lot making these cute and 'terrifying' little characters. So this morning when I saw him again I said: I'll take it! 

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Creepy Cute Crochet is the only amigurumi book translated into Spanish that I have found in bookstores in Malaga. I searched online, but no luck. So, do you know books and magazines in Spanish? And what's your favorite book (any language) about amigurumi?

★ Toc, toc! ¿Se puede?

Hola, soy el experimento Kraft★Croch –lo sé, es un nombre un tanto onomatopéyico– y descubrí, a principios de año, que los muñecos de lana que mi madre tejía cuando yo era pequeña ahora tenían un curioso nombre: amigurumis.

Desde entonces, he aprendido a leer un patrón y a diseñar los míos; he aprendido muchos trucos y consejos compartidos en internet por gente con mucho talento; y he descubierto el significado de palabras como ‘swaps’, ‘kawaii’, ‘nuigurumi’ o ‘anillo mágico’, entre otras, gracias a otros/as blogueros/as.  Por eso creo este blog, para seguir aprendiendo e intentar imaginar, desarrollar y compartir ideas y sensaciones.

Hi, I'm the Kraft★Croch experiment (I know, it is a very onomatopoeic name :P). Earlier this year I learned that wool dolls knitted by my mother when I was a child, are called amigurumis today.

Since then, I've learned to read and design a pattern, I have learned many tricks and tips shared on the Internet by talented people, and I've discovered the meaning of words such as 'swaps', 'kawaii', 'nuigurumi' or 'Magic Ring', among others, thanks to others bloggers. So I'm writing this blog to keep learning and sharing ideas and feelings.
